24th February 2010 - The Junior Medals were well attended with 30 Juniors turning out on the Wee Course and Big Courses for the two competitions played on Sunday. Jake Shaw took the honours in the morning on the Wee Course with a nett 28. Jack Simpson won for the second week in a row on the Big Course in the afternoon with a new scratch winter tee record of 37 (net 31). This is a fantastic start to the year for the Juniors with momentum building already for the new season and represents a three-fold increase in Juniors playing versus this time last year.

Winter Tee Flag Winner Ellen Forbes
10th February 2010 - The Flag Competition for the Juniors, arranged to provide sport for the local school in-service days, proved to be a very big hit today as they were played in glorious sunshine and in fantastic spirit. Cal Westall won on the Wee Course with his unique "Happy Gilmour" swing after 9 extra shots beyond the ninth green. On the Winter Tees, Ellen Forbes continued her run of fine form by running out a clear winner reaching the second extra green - a full hole ahead of all the other competitors! Congratulations to Ross Spence, Stuart Murray, Lee Gowans and Craig Bryson who applauded every one of Ellen's shots on the final hole - a fantastic demonstration of sportsmanship - especially as they had just been beaten by a girl!!!

New member Scott Heron impressed on the Wee Course in the morning with a great round of 40 and some very good shot-making in the process. Congratulations to all the Juniors, not only for the quality of the golf but for the great behaviour and great spirit in which the matches were played.
