Club History
On 30th January 1922, the Provost of Falkirk, James G. Russell and Baillie J.C. Gilchrist, called a public meeting with the intention of forming a Golf Club. This motion was adopted and the Falkirk Golf Club was formed.
A lease on the ground at Carmuirs was taken from Forbes of Callander. Under the experienced direction of Mr Peter Robertson, ex Scottish Champion and Professional, at the Braid Hills, Edinburgh, nine holes were constructed and ready for play by Saturday, 30th June 1922. The remainder of the course was completed and in play by the autumn of that year.
No Clubhouse was available, at that time, and members made do with a wooden hut until 1924, when a purpose built Clubhouse was completed on the present site. This building forms part of the Clubhouse today.
